How to Treat a Boyfriend
Relationships are fun and exciting especially when you are first starting them. If you want your boyfriend to stick around, he's more likely to do so if you treat him the right way. After you've dated someone for a while, you usually know their likes and dislikes. Treat your boyfriend right and your relationship can grow as the two of you grow closer together.
Talk to your boyfriend with respect. The key to any relationship is open and respectful communication. If your man ever makes you mad and you want to scream, remember that respectful communication should come out of your mouth. We have all heard and been told the old saying, “If you don’t have anything nice to say-Don’t say anything at all.” Talk to your boyfriend in the way you would want him to talk to talk to you. This will keep you and your boyfriend happy.
Be kind. People like being with others who are nice to them and make them feel wanted.
Do nice things for him. Once you know what your boyfriend's interests are and what he likes to do, you can do little things for him that let him know you want to please him.
Call him. Guys don't like to feel they always have to call their girlfriends or send them text messages. Surprise him with phone calls just to tell him you're thinking about him.
Accept him as he is. Everyone has faults. Unless your boyfriend has a serious flaw that you can't live with, accept him the same way he accepts you. People don't often stay with others who are constantly trying to change them.
Forgive him if he messes up and apologizes. There will be times when you two don't get along. You may mess up one day; he might mess up the next. If he's at fault and he says he's sorry, forgive him instead of carrying a grudge that only makes him feel worse.
Treat your boyfriend the same way you want to be treated. Think about how you'd like your significant other to treat you, then treat him like that.
Listen to your boyfriend even if what he is saying isn’t what you want to hear. Listening is an important part of all communication. Hearing and listening are NOT the same. Be sure that you take your boyfriend’s feelings into consideration when making comments about different things. If your man tells you that he is stressed for example, listen and give advice to him on how he can combat it. This will not only solidify your relationship but it will let your happy boyfriend know that you care about him.
Tell him you love him.
If you follow these simple steps you will always have a boyfriend worth keeping. Good Luck!
